I have seen posts over the months on trying to get older HP Scanners to work on Vista on these groups. How old? I bought this scanner in 2000. It's an **HP SJ 5300C. Are the new HP scanners spiffier? I finally did get the drive to work in both usb and sata connection. There seems to be a problem with the plug and play manager. SATA could be a problem if you are enclosing an IDE drive I have had several enclosures that wouldn't work with 64-bit (Vista or XP) that work with 32-bit.
